CACMA Tournament in Charlotte

SeveralWinthrop students just won a couple full contact Leitai matches in convincing fashion at the CACMA Kung Fu tournament in Charlotte. They both won outright in straight rounds. In many cases, they used Bagua techniques to counter and confuse their opponents. The front heel kick Sifu Fong suggested as a jab worked well also as a counter to a charging opponent. Keoni Everington coached the students as much as possible before the matches remotely via text message, email, and phone and it paid off.

Students also got gold and silver in Bagua, Xingyi, Tantui, Tibetan Staff, Shaolin #7, Straight sword, etc…
