For a small Tai Chi group with some one-on-one instruction see SifuFong outside the Japantown YMCA(near Geary and Laguna in San Francisco) on Sunday morning. Group warmups start at 9 am, lessons with the instructor at 10. Currently these classes are just $5 per day, in a friendly and supportive environment. Most of the students practice solo Tai Chi hand and weapon forms to increase sword1strength, flexibility, balance, grace of movement, and to reduce stress. Some are serious competitors. Some have a dance or yoga background. Students from absolute beginners to tournament champions work out together and lend each other mutual support and constructive criticism. This is outdoors, and the weather is normally good. (See Sifu Fong’s schedule here.)
