The Mid-Autumn Festival held in the Tenderloin of San Francisco has been cancelled for September 2021, due to the changing virus conditions.

Per Sifu Fong, UC has stated no CMAT in spring of 2022. At the current time, community members are not allowed on the Berkeley campus. Additionally, the university is reviewing their policies on recruiting, which limits Sifu Fong’s ability to recruit new team members for Cal. A possibility exists for a Fall 2022 CMAT event. Any updates will be posted here.

And for those of you wondering about the Universty Games. Wushu is still slated to be apart of that event. Tentatively set for June 26,2022 in Chengdu, China. Now that was before the variant, that may change. Or China might decide to go ahead with the event. The other problem, is can the US field a Collegiate team, and the cost might be very high. In the neighborhood, of $5,000 per athlete, plus we might have to quarantine. Which we will have to foot the Hotel bills. So I have informed USAWKF for permission to take a team, but again with the variant we might still not go. I will revisit this topic in October to see where the country and the World is, that will probably decide on whether the US sends a team.
